MILITARY EDUCATION AND ORGANISATIONAL PERFORMANCE OF THE NIGERIAN ARMED FORCES
Abstract: The study was on education and organisational performance of the Nigerian Armed Forces. The objective of the study was to establish the nexus between education and organisational performance of the Nigerian Armed Forces. The study adopted the descriptive survey design using quantitative analysis in which data were collected through questionnaire from 60 respondents who were naval personnel. Six formations of the Nigerian Navy formed the population of this study. Data collected were analysed using statistical package for social science version 23.0, spearman Rank order coefficient tools were used for testing the hypothesis. The finding of the study was that education lead to operational efficiency of the Nigerian Navy. The study recommends among others that the Nigerian Armed Forces should institute a policy on knowledge sharing, strengthen military education and its training institutions. It is also recommended that further research on the subject or related matter should focus on using more of theories that are skewed towards the criterion variable, and attempt to find out the situation in the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Airforce.
