ADOPTION OF IFRS AND ITS IMPLICATION ON TAX
ABSTRACT:
This work discusses adoption of IFRS and its implication on tax. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) are designed as a common global language for business affairs so that company accounts are understandable and comparable across international boundaries. They are a consequence of growing international shareholding and trade and are particularly important for companies that have dealings in several countries. They are progressively replacing the many different national accounting standards.
A hundred and twenty questionnaires were shared amongst selected chartered accountants of Nigeria. Primary and secondary data were used the analysis. Both frequency distribution and regression analysis were used.
It was observed therefore that adoption of IFRS has a significant implication on tax.. Also, there is a relationship between the adoption of IFRS and tax.
