IMPLEMENTATION OF DATA ENCRYPTION AND DECRYPTION USING RSA(RIVEST-SHAMIR-ADLEMAN) ALGORITHM FOR WAN/LAN CHANNELS

Abstract:

Background: With the pervasive growth of digital communication and data exchange over Wide Area Networks (WAN) and Local Area Networks (LAN), the security of transmitted information becomes paramount. The RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) algorithm, a widely adopted public-key cryptosystem, offers a robust solution for secure data transmission through its principles of asymmetric encryption. This study focuses on the implementation of the RSA algorithm to secure data communication over both WAN and LAN channels, aiming to enhance the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.

Methods: The implementation involved the development of encryption and decryption modules based on the RSA algorithm. A secure key exchange mechanism was established for secure communication between parties.
