Abstract:
This study explores the intricate relationship between political corruption and psycho-social disorder as depicted in two seminal African novels: “Arrow of Rain” by Okey Ndibe and “The Beautiful Ones Are Not Yet Born” by Ayi Kwei Armah. Utilizing a literary analysis approach, the research delves into the ways in which these novels articulate the consequences of political corruption on individual psyches and societal well-being. Through a comparative examination of the narrative structures, characters, and thematic elements in both works, the study aims to unravel the psychological and social impacts of political corruption within the contexts of Nigeria and Ghana.
In “Arrow of Rain,” Ndibe offers a poignant exploration of the psychological toll of political corruption on individuals, emphasizing the internal struggles faced by characters in their quest for justice and morality amidst a corrupt political landscape.
