Abstract:
This research seeks to comprehensively assess and quantify the intricate interplay between climate change and public health, focusing on the specific case of Kano State, Nigeria. With the intensifying impacts of climate change globally, regions like sub-Saharan Africa face unique challenges, and Kano State serves as a microcosm reflecting these complexities. The study employs a multidisciplinary approach, integrating meteorological data, health records, and socio-economic indicators to elucidate the direct and indirect consequences of climate change on the health landscape.
The investigation unfolds against the backdrop of Kano State’s vulnerability to climatic variations, marked by increasing temperatures, altered precipitation patterns, and heightened frequency of extreme weather events. Through rigorous data analysis, the research aims to quantify the correlations between climate variables and health outcomes, such as the prevalence of waterborne diseases, vector-borne illnesses, and respiratory conditions.
