CHAPTERONE

INTRODUCTION 1.1

Preamble

The concept of Re-engineering was first popularised when “re-engineering the

corporation” was first published in 1993.

dramatic breakthrough in performance.

According to the former Managing Director of Wema Bank, Chief Samuel

Adegbite, “re-engineering is the fundamental re-thinking and radical redesign of

business processes to achieve dramatic improvements in critical contemporary measures

of performance such as cost, quality service and speed”…………….
