TRENDS OF POLITICAL INSTABILITY IN NIGERIA: THE WAY FORWARD
Abstract
Political instability is a common occurrence in Nigeria which always affect the unity and peaceful co-existence of the country as a nation. Political instability arises from the prevailing incidences of perceived social injustice and discrimination among the citizens and the inability of the government to address the challenges of the masses. Hence, this paper examines the synopsis of political instability with its causes and implications on the country. The paper reveals that political instability can lead to wanton destruction of lives and properties and loss of large amount of revenue by the government. However, it is recommended that political leaders should not see politics as business but as a call to serve by which good governance must prevail in the country.
